The Royal Commission is convening stakeholder roundtables, bringing together experts and service providers in early childhood development, education and policy.

The purpose of the roundtables is to:

  • discuss the role of ECEC in supporting children, parents and carers in a child’s first 1000 days
  • consider what the commitment to 3-year-old preschool means for South Australian children, families, educators and providers
  • discuss opportunities to make Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) more accessible for South Australian families and children to provide enriching experiences for children, and to support working families.

How will the roundtables work?

Participants will be asked to contribute to wide ranging conversations on how ECEC can be innovative, contribute to and be valued by the community and how it can support South Australian families and children who are most disadvantaged.

Issues including quality, supports for vulnerable communities, challenges, opportunities and innovation will be discussed in the roundtables.

More information about the role of the roundtables is available in the Stakeholder Roundtable Practice Guideline (PDF, 189.3 KB).
