The Royal Commission will hold its second round of hearings on Monday 27 March 2023.

The focus of this second round of hearings is “data, research and innovation” and the aim is to build an understanding of the different possible uses of data, from the macro to the micro.

Hearing topics

Evidence will be heard on the following topics:

  • Session 1 - 11:15am: Incorporating research methodologies into program implementation
    Witnesses:

  • Session 2 - 12:15pm: An SA case study of creating a 'learning system' using big data and program data from the Early Intervention Research Directorate (EIRD) and Child Family Safety System

  • Session 3 - 2pm: The views of an informed public health practitioner: the key elements required for a universal child development data system

  • Session 4 - 3pm: Autism early intervention study: understanding pre-emptive early intervention
    Witness:
    • Professor Andrew Whitehouse, Telethon Kids Institute
  • Session 5: Born in Bradford: Using longitudinal data to support research and service design
    Discussion:
    • Professor Mark Mon-Williams, University of Leeds
